File consultations
CDDHV clinicians can seek advice from their CDDHV colleagues, including psychiatrists and human relations and counseling specialists, or from outside specialists such as neurologists, geneticists, psychologists or rehabilitation specialists, by means of a 'file consultation' without the patient actually being seen by the consulted specialist.
Outcomes can be:
- Specific, targeted investigation undertaken
- More specific, detailed management plans and advice and supportive information in the reports sent back to the referring doctor.
- A decision to refer the patient for an in-person consultation with the advising specialist.
